Hi,
I also have a chip from ******** installed, and I asked them this question as well. ******** said, "When changing the timing belt or making adjustments to the pump, always use the original chips |
."
That says a lot about the 'chip'. Either it's a disguised, low-quality tuning modification, or the default settings mode is no longer working.
In both cases, it's
junk. Selling a 10-cent modification as a chip is bordering on fraud.
Whether you use a diagnostic tool or a multimeter to set the injection start timing is irrelevant. You don't need to modify anything on the engine control unit, disable any modules, or remove any cheap aftermarket parts to adjust it!

The chip certainly ensures an advance in the injection timing.
point. Or is that irrelevant when idling? |
Uninteresting. Using a diagnostic device, it is configured in the
basic settings mode. What this means is explained in the technical article on adjusting the VW 1.9l TDI distributor injection pump.
