Steering Angle Adjustment Not Possible

The following problem: GRA (presumably a system) was installed => steering angle sensor was damaged => a new one was purchased from an online marketplace => it cannot be adjusted.

I followed all the instructions as described, but I'm getting the error: "Adjustment not possible!"

I'm stuck now, does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Mechanical fault?! Does this mean the steering angle sensor is misaligned or defective?

Well, a dictionary helps: Sporadic mechanical failure. There's probably a reason why this part ended up for sale online...

I used VAG-com to determine the steering angle and adjusted it until it displayed zero degrees. Then, I adjusted the steering wheel and made the necessary steering angle adjustments.

Does that refer to the zeroing of the steering angle sensor? There's a specific procedure for that that involves using Vag-***.

I hope you didn't mess up the steering's zero point when you turned the steering wheel, otherwise, the steering wheel will be misaligned and you'll have to turn it to drive straight.

Have you ever tried turning the wheel fully to the left and fully to the right and checked the values? If the sensor isn't centered, you might get an implausible signal when you turn the wheel all the way.

No, that's not what I meant. No, I determined a value of 0° in the MWB (which is approximately the center of the sensor) and then reinstalled the steering wheel.
