Cooler Fan Test: VAG-Com Level 2 Possible?

I'm looking for a way to test the radiator fan on a 2002 Golf IV with Climatronic by using a diagnostic tool to set it to level 2.

Background:
Recently, I experienced a situation where, due to traffic congestion after a large event, I was stuck in a very hot car (6 hours at > 28 degrees Celsius). After starting the car, it took about 20 minutes of slow driving before the fan turned on, and it didn't even go up to level 2, which used to happen more often. Level 1 ran continuously as usual. Also, while the air conditioning was noticeable, it didn't cool down the car properly.

Is there a way to do this with VAG-Com, or do I need to bypass it manually?
