Here's the situation: Yesterday, my A3 2.0 TDI 8P completely lost power after starting the engine: the radio went into safe mode, all the lights were flashing, the clock reset, etc. - and now the ESP light is constantly on. I was able to drive home and get it to the dealer. They mentioned something about 'ESP deactivation level 2' due to a voltage drop. I'll find out more on Monday, but I'm getting impatient . Has anyone got any ideas?

In this case, the brake control unit is reset via guided diagnostics and reprogrammed. Usually, only the steering angle sensor needs to be reset. If the battery is completely drained and a starting attempt is made, it loses all its values and does not initialize automatically. If you simply disconnect terminal 30 (battery), the warning light will also illuminate, but it will automatically turn off after driving straight for about 100 meters.

I had a similar problem last week with a customer. I don't know what Audi is hoping to achieve, because if the customer can't tell that the battery is completely drained, even though the ignition is working normally and the starting attempt fails, then these errors will occur. Probably, the customer just comes and pays, especially if they are outside the warranty period... :evil:
