Hello!

Today, I created a log using MWB 16 (plus MWB 1).
to investigate how the auxiliary heater behaves during cold starts.
(Spark plugs) in the G3 AFN engine behave (actually, to find out).
(whether something like that even exists in my car).
10 seconds after a cold start (-3°C), column 3 changes from 00 to 01.
Every 10 seconds, then switch to channels 10 and 11.
The values are likely binary representations of 0-3 and indicate...
reaches its peak intensity. The generator load (column 2) reflects this.
It also increases again, conforming to the trend up to 67%, and then later it increases further.
Less. The system shut down at a coolant water temperature of 45°.

It all seems to be based on existing and...
perfectly functioning auxiliary heater. icon_wink.gif

There are two things I don't understand:

Column 2 in MWB 16 initially reads 10000 before being switched on.
From that point on, it consistently remained at 11111111 (I couldn't find anything related to this in the label files).

Die Zusatzheizung schaltete 3-mal aus, d.h. Column 3 jumped.
reset to 00 and then restart every 10 seconds.
This happened at most only when the...
The idle speed of 903 was exceeded during the thrust phase.
The voltage on board was probably not the reason, as it was always good.
over 14V.

Sure, here's the translation:

"I appreciate any explanations in advance."

Best regards, Klaus.

Existence is the simplest question mark to resolve.

The coolant outlet on the cylinder head (above the clutch) has three glow plugs - easily identifiable by their cables. And on the injection nozzle, there's a 5A fuse (where the pre-glow fuse used to be on the G2 diesel).

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

How can you go below the idle speed icon_question.gif while in overrun mode?

The auxiliary heater typically activates based on generator load.

Column 2 lists the shutdown conditions.

I'm using "Schubbetrieb" as a shorthand for "not giving gas."
used - and if you then use track 1 or 2,
Idle speed reached, and possibly even exceeded by one.
a slight upward curve, then it goes below.
just the idle speed for a very short time, until the control unit...
counter-regulated again.

The number 2 was practically always fully occupied, especially...
before and during the shutdown.

I now assume that one of the shutdown conditions is...
a deviation from the LL-Greh number by more than one.
The defined value is. The resolution of the log does not allow for that.
to draw more precise conclusions.

Does the auxiliary heater actually start up only initially?
below a certain temperature, for example, 5°?

Best regards, Klaus.

It depends on the data set of your engine control unit.

With the Golf 3, it was like this:
A) Intake air temperature before starting above 0°C icon_arrow.gif, no glow plug heating.
B) Intake air temperature below 0°C icon_arrow.gif Glow plug heating up to a certain coolant temperature.

1) LLT 0° = up to approximately 50°C water temperature.
2) LLT (Low-Level Temperature) -10°C = up to approximately 55°C, KW (kilowatt).
3) LLT (Lowest Limit of Temperature) -15°C = up to approximately 65°C KW.
4) Low-temperature applications -20°C or lower = up to approximately 75°C kW.

That's roughly how I remember it.

Regards,
Guste.
