Actuator Diagnosis Problem with VAG-COM 704.1

Hello,
After upgrading to VAG-COM 704.1 (from 504.1), the actuator diagnostics on my Audi 80 / 1Z no longer controls the relay for low heating power (J359).
Instead, the final step displays a control unit for automatic glow plug activation, identified as J179.
I can't tell if this is just a mislabeled component, as I'm currently troubleshooting issues related to the control of J339.
"Reverting to the previously used VAG-COM 504.1 software does not work. When starting advanced functions like actuator diagnostics, I receive an error message: "VAG COM must be activated for this function..." The suggested test of reading the error memory works."
Even after uninstalling version 704.1, my previous version only works without the advanced features.
Do I need to reinstall an older firmware version on the device, and if so, how?

There might be a bug, but it probably doesn't have anything to do with the adapter's firmware version. I'll forward your issue.

My engine control unit has the number 028 906 021 D. This is the version with the black plastic housing. The engine is already the one with 202 Nm of torque, mass airflow sensor, etc.

With this version of the diagnostic tool, I could only activate the relay for the low heating power. According to the Audi repair manual, this is normal, and certain measurement blocks are also missing.
With the later devices, it is possible to sequentially activate both relays (I once borrowed a 028 906 021 ET from the parts department).
I will take the screenshots tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that the 504.1 is no longer usable with the 704.1 due to a firmware update for the diagnostic hardware. This is normal in this case because the firmware is not backward-compatible.

I have forwarded the issue regarding the "alternative" control/text, i.e., the actual problem.

Could it be that the car has been modified, or that the engine control unit has been replaced with a different one?

No, the car is in its original condition, it hasn't been modified, the engine control unit is original (MSA12), and it hasn't had any work done on it besides the initial standard VW/Audi maintenance, reading the error memory with VAG 1551, and then subsequent maintenance work performed by the owner. It has been supported by VAG-COM since 2005.
