Hello everyone,

After a successful head gasket replacement, I'm now experiencing problems with the oil pressure line to the turbocharger. Oil is leaking from the connection between the fitting nut and the pressure line.

Die It's still stuck firmly to the 'adapter.'

What now? Is there another solution besides completely replacing the pressure line and the 'adapter'?

Thank you for the tips.

Regards,
Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

...that doesn't sound good icon_sad.gif. If the adapter rotates along with it, then either the pressure line icon_question.gif will twist and potentially tear, or the contact surface between the line and the adapter will be damaged. I once had this problem with an injector line icon_cry.gif -> that's why I always hold the adapter in place when loosening such lines, especially if you feel that the loosening torque is very high. icon_exclaim.gif

Do you have two open-end wrenches from Hazet? With enough force and leverage, the Hazet wrenches should be able to loosen the connection icon_confused.gif. I can only recommend Hazet tools (and Gedore as well) again and again... these tools are a lifesaver, especially when dealing with connections like these icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif.

But don't worry about it... it's a rule of thumb for me that something extra always breaks when I do things like that icon_mad.gif.

but be careful that no chips get into the turbo

Best regards, Christian.

Hello Christian,

You were, of course, right. The oil pressure line was sheared right off at the coupling nut.

Regards,
Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

Actually, you should be able to remove the pipe without any special tools. To hold the adapter in place, I would recommend getting a Hazet combination wrench icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif. There are also open double hexagon sockets available for the coupling nut, in case the open ring wrench doesn't fit:

Otherwise, you will have to say goodbye to the old printing pipeline icon_cry.gif.

Best regards, Christian.

Hi Christian,
apter is out.

Well, the problem is already solved. I just removed the entire adapter and replaced the cable. It cost 29 euros and a lot of frustration.

Regards,

Thomas.

Well, things like that happen all the time when working on cars... You're not alone icon_wink.gif icon_mad.gif.
