Hello.
I own a Fabia RS that is equipped with ESP/EDS (it was...).
(ordered as an option). In addition, the car has ABS/ASR - which is a feature that is...
The standard equipment of the car includes ABS, ASR, and ESP, which are all functioning correctly, but the EDS is not.
(differential lock) is not working - the brakes are engaging instead.
"The wheel is spinning uncontrollably. There are no error codes stored in the diagnostic system (VAG-COM)."
kommuniziert mit dem steuergerat ESP ohne probleme. Perhaps it lies...
das problem am falschen codierung ? It looks like that.

Hello,
I'm experiencing the exact same problem with my vehicle. The EDS (Electronic Differential Lock) is not engaging to prevent the spinning wheel. There are no error codes stored.
ABS, ASR engine intervention, and ESP are functioning.
How can I diagnose the problem more precisely?
Best regards, Matthias.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem with my T4 2.5 TDI, which also comes standard with ABS/EDS. Yesterday, while driving on a grassy area, I noticed that the spinning wheel wasn't being braked.

The Electronic Stability System (EDS) only operates up to approximately 30 km/h.
However, with ESP activated, it would always be running, as the ESP system would be constantly intervening. Audi A5 B8 Cabrio 2.0 TFSI/CNCD 225PS

I've tried everything with my T4. I've tried gentle acceleration, aggressive acceleration, but only one wheel spins, with no reaction from the EDS (Electronic Differential Lock). I've tried the entire range, from idle to 3500 RPM. I then read the error memory, but there were no errors.
I would actually rule out overheating, as I drove for a short distance between attempts and even parked for a few minutes. The ABS functions normally, as does the cruise control (due to the pedal switches).
Where else could I try, and where should I start my search? All the wheel speed sensors must also be compatible, otherwise I would have an error message and the ABS system would indicate a problem.
Difficult, difficult...

Does the T4 have an ASR or ESP switch?
To my knowledge, EDS (Electronic Stability Program) is only included with ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) and is deactivated via the ASR/ESP button.
In addition, if there is a more significant intervention or control, the indicator light should blink. Audi A5 B8 Cabrio 2.0 TFSI/CNCD 225PS

That's not entirely correct...
My T4 doesn't have ESP. Apparently, ESP was also sometimes offered with ASR.
My 2000 T4 only has ABS/EDS.
There's also no warning light or switch for the ABS/EDS system. I've often wished there was a warning light, as I'd like to see when the system activates, but unfortunately, the T4 doesn't have one.

Okay, so this isn't based on knowledge, but rather a guess...
I think you'll still only find ABS in buses.
Because, if necessary, the EDS (Electronic Stability Program) should be able to be deactivated, and this is done via the ASR/ESP button.
I've only experienced it in the Fabia and Passat, and it seems like there needs to be a significant amount of wheel slip before the brakes are applied. Audi A5 B8 Cabrio 2.0 TFSI/CNCD 225PS

I can report that in the Golf 4 and Golf 5, even when the ESP is turned off, the EDS still functions.

Does the T4 have an ASR or ESP switch?
To my knowledge, EDS (Electronic Stability Program) is only included with ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) and is deactivated via the ASR/ESP button.
In addition, if there is a more significant and frequent intervention, the control light should blink.
No, the EDS (Electronic Differential System) is always active, meaning it constantly compares the left and right sides with brake intervention. The ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) button deactivates the throttle control, which is the reduction of power when the wheels are spinning. In this case, the comparison is made with the non-drive wheels.
Best regards,
Matthias.
