It's difficult to say much about the tread pattern from the picture, other than that it doesn't look good and seems to be somewhat deeper. If the grooves don't disappear after a few passes, which I assume they will, the new pistons will continue to create the same grooves or wear marks in the same places.

I can only agree with my predecessors, unfortunately.

The weight differences in the running gear (specifically, the masses) are largely determined by the tolerances of the connecting rod, while the pistons have a much smaller impact.
