Hello! I have a Passat 3BG, manufactured in March 2005, with 101 hp and ESP. In my car, the "engine malfunction" warning light is on, and the yellow tachometer display is lit up with an exclamation mark.
I read the error memory, both in the engine and in the brake electronics.
The error code indicated a brake light switch malfunction that could not be cleared.
I then installed a new switch, but there's still no improvement. What else could it be?
The ABS is pulsating, and the brake booster is also partially functional even without it.
Have you ever encountered this error before?
Check the activation status of BOTH brake pedal sensors using VAG COM or a suitable diagnostic system.
When installing the switch, proceed carefully and follow the instructions, otherwise there is a risk of damaging it again.
Alternatively, check if the wrong bulb was accidentally installed in the taillight/brake light and make sure everything is working correctly in the rear.
Hello! What about the blue clutch switch next to the brake light switch? What is it for?
Sincerely, Simic
The system, for example, will disengage the cruise control if you press the clutch pedal.
As far as I know, this is also to protect the clutch (torque limitation).
