Hello fellow enthusiasts,

Today, for the first time, I tried to print out the Autoscan list (error entries from the existing modules) from VAG-COM (yes, it was called that back then...).
I'm using a naturally registered VAG-COM version 409.15 with a custom-built adapter that doesn't use optocouplers (and it's been working perfectly with my car for years).

Unfortunately, when I click 'Print,' I get two consecutive error messages (see attachment), such as 'Visual C++ runtime error' and 'unknown software exception.'

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

I have XP Pro SP3 and I don't have any problems printing via Wi-Fi!

Best regards,
K. Oldewurtel

Hi Kassen,

I suspect the problem lies with XP Pro SP3 in combination with VC++. Because two other applications I developed had the same issue, which could only be resolved by recompiling them.

Since the 409 is no longer being maintained, I'm afraid we'll have to live with the problem.

A workaround would be to copy the text into Notepad and print it from there.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello.

I have another solution here that I use on my laptop, because I don't always want to go directly to the office when I need to print something in the workshop.
It's a simple program that converts all files into PDF files with the click of a button. These files can be saved and later printed or sent via email.

I can really recommend it!

Regards,

Reno.

Hello Rainer, hello Reno,

Pressing the 'copy results' button copies the data to the clipboard.
I then copied them into a new text document and printed it. icon_eek.gif.
Okay, so the same solution as suggested by Rainer.

I'm somehow relieved: This time, the problem isn't sitting IN FRONT of the computer icon_wink.gif.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Cash registers.
