"Does anyone know the diameters of the PD crank axle (main bearing and crankpin)?"
For the "standard" TDIs, the main bearings have a diameter of 54mm, and the crankshaft journals have a diameter of 47.8mm.
I was actually wondering if I should just get the connecting rod bearing shells from the PD engine, as they are likely to be more wear-resistant and have a higher load capacity than the ones from the AHF/ASV engines.
However, I was unable to find any information about the diameter.
However, I find the price differences quite strange.
PD storage containers cost approximately 7 EUR each.
The lower bearing shells of older TDIs (AGR, AHF, ALH, ASV) also fall within this price range. However, the upper bearing shells, which are subject to high loads, are manufactured as sputtered bearings in the AHF and ASV models, and each piece is said to cost approximately 24 EUR

Now I'm wondering if the PDs simply increased the shaft diameter to achieve the same stability using conventional and cheaper bearings, or if the PDs generally have SPUTTER bearings, which, however, can be manufactured more cheaply?
