Hello!

Can someone please post what exactly is written on the identification plate of a VNT 17 from the 130 PD series?
Does this have something to do with the year 1749?

Sure, no problem. Here's the translation:

"Thank you in advance."
Best regards, mozz.

For vehicles equipped with the 130 horsepower engines, the type plate should indicate:

038253019E or
038253019F

For vehicles with a 150 hp engine, the type plate should indicate:

038253019G or
038253019D

038253019A and 038253019C are, for example, suitable for the 100PS and 110PS TDI engines, as well as for the 90PS engine with VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry). For the 90PS engine with a wastegate, the part number would be 028145701Q.

'The GT174 turbocharger should be fitted to all models (except for the 90hp models with a wastegate)!'

This is just an excerpt (are these Golf loaders?).

I have a Passat with a 130 hp PD engine, and the part number is 038145702E.
There are many other part numbers available for VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda vehicles.
the chargers are all roughly the same. The only difference is...
What I was able to determine is that the compressor housings are replaceable.
Sure, I will correct you if something is wrong. Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

Regards,

Maciek.

Sure, I'd like to know the Garrett model number!
"There's a marking on mine that says GT1749 or something similar, and I want to know if it's really a VNT 17."

Yes, I forgot to mention that, but they are all for Golf/Bora models!

Okay, yes, the compressor housings are definitely not the same! For example, they have different outlet diameters, etc. ... And the impeller designs are also completely different.

Okay, I'm home now and I have it here. It says "GT1749VA GS4 038145702E V100 bla bla..." on it.
Okay, let's assume it's coming from a Passat. My problem now is that, no matter how much creativity I have (which I do icon_cool.gif), I don't know how to make the compressor side connect.
It's pointing downwards!
Does anyone know if I can open the compressor side, remove the components, and simply rotate it? It would look like that because the screws are arranged symmetrically.

Okay, I've now arrived home and I have it in front of me: GT1749VA GS4 038145702E V100 bla bla... that's what's written on it.

Hi,

I have the same one in front of me, and it looks like this:

Now you can loosen the screws on the compressor housing and rotate the housing as you like. I even know someone who works on those.
I installed an AFN compressor housing, and it's working great.

Regards,

Maciek.
