Good evening, everyone.
Unfortunately, the search function did not provide me with an answer.
On my VP37, one of the axles has become slightly embedded in the housing near the roller ring. It's enough to affect the movement of the injection adjuster.
In the other axes, it is also sometimes noticeable, but only to a small extent that it is unlikely to have any impact.
Is there a way to get this working again using readily available materials?
My thought was, and still is, to use progressively finer sandpaper, up to approximately 2000 grit wet sandpaper, to carefully sand down a soft form in the area of the affected spot... In such a way that it no longer obstructs the axis of the roller.
Does anyone have a better suggestion, or can I actually do it this way?
Does anyone happen to have a working housing with a matching, also working, wing cell pump from an Audi A6, 140 hp, engine code AEL, "lying around"?
Thank you for your efforts, and I wish you a pleasant evening.
Best regards,
Wool. 2018er A6 Avant Allroad, 3.0 Bi-TDI mit prima Ausstattung

Hello Wolle,
I also have a pump and various engine parts for the 5-cylinder engine "lying around."
Ideally, send me a short private message with a phone number where I can reach you.
I'll get in touch with you later. Gruß

Good morning.
Okay.
@TDI on Water
You have a private message.
Even though the following might read well at first glance...
Please give me a call sometime... It would be really nice.
Regarding the issue:
I simply used a Dremel tool and a bit of patience to modify the sharp edges where the axles of the rollers were likely getting stuck, creating very smooth transitions.
After that, the pump was thoroughly cleaned of any foreign particles using a large amount of brake cleaner and compressed air, and then reassembled.
It's running smoothly again. Even the slight hesitation below 1400 RPM is gone now.
Previously, it was always noticeable, no matter how I adjusted the MSW on the pump.
So far, everything is okay.
Best regards,
Wool.
P.S.
I took some photos and recorded some measurements. I'll write a short report in the coming days. 2018er A6 Avant Allroad, 3.0 Bi-TDI mit prima Ausstattung
