Our T4 TDI 111kW sometimes cuts out while driving at high speeds (over 160km/h) and restarts after a few hundred meters or so, usually after 10-30 seconds. This often happens when the tank is only about 1/4 full. What could be the cause? Is the diesel foaming so much that it can no longer be sucked in? As I said, everything will be fine again afterwards.

Hello,
without further consideration, it sounds very much like relay 109 (motor management power supply)...
I don't know if it's even installed in your model.
If you find a relay plate with a '109 - Made in Tunesia' label, that's a likely candidate.
Hello, Rainer

Did you definitely take a long, sharp right-hand turn before each time?
is a common problem with the T4. It sucks in air.
either fill up the tank or take your foot off the gas in the (sharp) turn.

@ Maniac: So, wie ich erwartet habe, er saugt also Luft. Never drive with less than 1/4 of a full tank.

it's enough to make the gas pedal easier to use in such situations (empty tank and long curve). not digital gas.
I always drive until the light turns red. No problems.
