Hi everyone!
I have a Golf V GTI Edition 30, and I can, of course, activate the "Coming and Leaving Home" feature. However, I don't want the xenon headlights to activate every time.
Is it possible to retrofit this to the fog lights?
I would like to use this function, but not with Xenon!

Well.
We should have bought an Audi.
I'm experiencing the same problem, so I'm uninstalling "Leaving Home."
"The 'Coming Home' feature for Xenon is fine, because they can certainly stay on for an extra 120 seconds if they were already on anyway."

Yes, but is it codable or not?
Theoretically, it should work, right? If it works for Audi, then why not?

I was just really thinking about which function in the car might have something to do with "flipping" or "turning pages." Now I see clearly, it's not about flipping pages at all!
Just because certain Audi models can do something doesn't necessarily mean that Golfs can too. Even with the Golf, there are so many control units (onboard systems) that might not be able to handle everything, making it very likely that not everything can be changed as desired.

VW cars can't do that.
Is this answer better?
At least, this applies to the Passat 3C and the Golf 1K (Golf 5), until someone proves me wrong.

Even if it's only indirectly related...
Our T4 van originally came with dual xenon headlights (meaning two bulbs per side, one for low beam and one for high beam).
Every time the high beams are turned on, the two additional burners also ignite.
Conclusion after almost 150,000 km and seven years: one of the low beam headlights has failed.
I would not forgo this extra (if I had it ) in favor of the longevity of the burners . T5 California (CFCA) 4Motion

4 burners???
But not from the factory? Did you build that yourself?
Photos!!!!!!!
EDITH: I found it!
"Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English."
The manufacturer of the Xenon system was the company projektzwo automobildesign GmbH. Xenon headlights were only offered for the long-wheelbase version.

Have you ever loaded your car with things in the evening, while it's parked on the street?
It's lit very often.
And your bus might have fewer headlights if one of the burners that tends to fail burns out.
Then, on one side, I no longer have either high beam or low beam headlights (Bi-Xenon). I really don't like that.

Double-Xenon headlights were only available on VW's upper-class automotive models, including the Phaeton and T4 .
As you correctly pointed out, P2 was the manufacturer, while VW installed the lights at the Service Center for Special Equipment in Hanover.
I don't know how complicated it is to replace the burners on a 3C.
However, if it's not necessary to remove the entire headlight assembly and the reflector housing, but everything can be accessed from the engine compartment, then you can definitely put a spare bulb in the glove compartment . T5 California (CFCA) 4Motion

Dynamic cornering lights don't really make sense with DoppelX either.
Let me see how the exchange works for the 3C and 1K models. Transparency, Teamwork

I can only speak about my experience with the 1J model. It's over 7 years old, soon to have 160,000 km, and the first glow plugs are starting to fail. Now, when I start the car in the garage, I can see that the passenger-side glow plug takes a bit longer to reach the same color as the driver-side glow plug. That's why I also have a spare glow plug in the car and I've tried to replace one. If you get stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere at night and it's cold, it's definitely not something you can do. After watching the spectacle in the garage, I have to say that I can replace the driver-side glow plug with the battery still installed, but the passenger side remains tricky , although it's possible, it would probably take about 20 minutes.
