Point 1: Acquire a VAG-COM device.
Point 2: Read error codes.
Point 3: Post error messages here.

Without that, there are a thousand possibilities for what it could be. You need to have a general idea of the direction it's heading in.

... and please specify the engine code or at least the power output, as different turbochargers are installed.
Also, whether the car has been modified or not, and exactly when the problem occurs.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello everyone,

So, the MKB is essentially the AMF without any modifications or tuning.

I'm currently checking under the car, more information will follow.

hello

there's bernie.

So, wastegate turbocharger.

How do you _know_ it's the turbo?

What about this option?
The mass airflow sensor is fluctuating, reporting insufficient airflow, which is causing the fuel injection quantity to be reduced via the opacity lookup table.

"Haha, our A2 used to have that problem too... although it was a persistent issue until I could find a parking spot. It ripped the clamp off the LD hose right at the turbocharger. The remains were completely rusted. It was a great defect, happening right in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere... *yes, praise be, the beloved A2, it was a great car*."

Okay, so I checked the clamps and hoses, and the intake on the turbocharger is a bit oily, which might be coming from the valve cover gasket. I'll get the error codes read.

Somewhat off-topic: Is it possible to deactivate the EGR system when using an AMF (Abgasmanagement-Filter)?

"Bernie asks."

@martin: LMM kommt eher nicht direkt in Frage. Der wird nur zur Steuerung der AGR verwendet. Thankfully!

But the rest is correct. First, read the error codes, then proceed.

Yes, AGR can be put on hold. If there's no MIL, it's possible.

It's not uncommon in the A2 category; check out the A2 forum.

Most often, it's a loose or cracked hose in the compressed air system.
Then an error: 'Rule limit exceeded, temporarily.'
It must be stored in the MSG.

It then goes into emergency mode with very little power, and the maximum speed is approximately 110 km/h.
After the restart, everything seems to be working fine again.
Until more than ~5 seconds of power is required, it reverts to emergency mode.

Friendly people often enjoy playing games like 'Werewolf' or engaging in activities where they exchange items.
which is somehow related to the boost pressure control system.

Thomas.

I suspect that the nitrite coating on the guide vane assembly is worn out. This often causes problems. Cleaning the exhaust side only provides temporary relief. Therefore, the best solution is either a good used part or a new one.

Regards!

The AMF turbocharger uses a wastegate system, as mentioned above. So, it's not a variable geometry turbo (VTG).
