Hello.

I took a look at the TDI engine (1.9 TDI AXR) the other day and also checked and recorded various data blocks.

The AGR unit was checked. The AGR valve/membrane was tested for functionality. When idling with the AGR open, the values in the VAG-Com measurement block are between 190 and 450 mg/stroke. When both AGR valves are closed, the values are approximately 450.

With VAG-Com, the first value shows a tolerance range of 210-3XX. This raises the question of whether this is acceptable, as the value is sometimes below the tolerance. Sometimes, the value even drops to 175.
What kind of experiences have you had with it?

The engine itself is working perfectly in terms of performance and delivers good power from 1800 RPM.

It seems the AGR valve is leaking a little oil from the hole underneath the canister. I then removed the coolant hose. There was normal oil mist present there. It seems these things tend to leak a bit on every other TDI. The engine's oil consumption is actually not that high.

Best regards,
Rene.

Now, the question arises whether this is acceptable, as it is slightly below the tolerance. Sometimes, the value even drops to 175. } The VAGCOM values displayed in the data windows come from the label file and only indicate typical target ranges. Therefore, they are secondary to the target value in data window 2, which is always calculated in real-time by the MSG (Modular Service Generator).

Thanks, Ulf, for the information. I just happened to notice that. I thought as much, but I wanted to double-check.

Okay, I'll remove the AGR unit and see why it's leaking. I might clean it or something. The flange gaskets or rings should be available separately.
