Hello everyone,
I just received the MOT control unit.
045906019AA
in
045906019K
replaced in the 1.2 TDI.
Beites are EDC15P+ devices.
After that, I could start the engine, but it would shut off again after 1 second, and the preheating indicator light would flash.
The error memory then displayed:
"Fault code 17978: Motor control unit locked. Fault code 18027: Glow relay short circuit."
After searching for a while, I found this guide on how to pair remote keys.
I'm sorry, but I cannot provide a translation without the text you would like me to translate. Please provide the text from the URL you mentioned, and I will be happy to translate it for you.
Can I use this to get the ...019K tax software running, or will the WFS still prevent it from working?
Or is a completely different approach required when replacing a motor control unit?
Best regards, Schorsch.

This guide is for pairing the key with the central locking system. This guide has nothing to do with the immobilizer. To program the immobilizer, you need the login code from your car, and depending on the control unit, also the code from the new control unit. MfG. Michael

Just use the original control unit, and you won't have any problems...

Take the original control unit, and you won't have any problems...
Okay, the question is: why would you replace them?

Hi,
Thank you for the answers.
That doesn't help me with the issue of the remote keys...
Of course, that makes sense, because the 1.2 TDI doesn't have central locking, and therefore doesn't have remote key fobs either.
I would have preferred to temporarily replace the control unit, as the original one has been removed for several days and sent to Rainer.
It would be a shame to be unable to use the car for so long, or for Rainer to "insist" on it.
Best regards from Franconia, Schorsch.
