Timing Belt Replacement: Intervals & Costs

Hello.

How can you reliably determine the correct replacement interval for the timing belt?
Specifically, it's about a Skoda Octavia I, manufactured in 2005, with a 66kW TDI engine and a VP injection pump.
According to the workshop, the timing belt needs to be replaced at 120,000 km. However, I have often heard/read that it should be replaced at 150,000 km.
How can I find out when it needs to be done?

In the operating instructions or at the dealer .

AGP, AQM, ALH, AGR, AHF, ASV models up to May 2001 -> 90,000 km.
AGP, AQM, ALH, AGR, AHF, ASV, MJ 2002 -> 120,000 km
AGP, AQM, ALH, AGR, AHF, ASV, starting with production month 2003 -> 150,000 km.

I believe the AHF (presumably a car model) had approximately 60,000 km (or miles) on the odometer until May 2000.

According to my understanding, the AHF (presumably a car model) had approximately 60,000 km (37,000 miles) on the odometer until May 2000.

The 60,000 km interval was, as far as I know, only for the AJM engine.

My old A3, model year 1998, with automatic air conditioning definitely had 60,000 km on the clock, and later, with a different belt, it had 90,000 km.

Sure, no problem.
The service booklet states the prescribed interval of 120,000 km.
Could it be that the vehicle is from an older model year? The first registration date is 2005.
Can you find out more details based on the engine number and chassis number? Or is it just a typo in the service booklet?

Yes... The 10th digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN)!
