Hello!
My A4 PD (AJM) manufactured in 10/00 broke down with approximately 40,000 km on the odometer.
The turbo seized while drawing oil, and it also damaged the catalytic converter. I'm a very economical driver, and I only drive long distances, with a fuel consumption of no more than 5.8 liters per 100 km (with 225/45 ZR 17 tires), or 5.3 liters (with 195/65 R 15 winter tires).
I was promised a goodwill discount of 70% on the material cost, which means I still have to pay more than €1300 for the repair.
Who has had similar experiences and can provide me with arguments, or has personally experienced a different arrangement? I am grateful for any tips or information. If successful, I promise a bonus of 10% of the amount saved .
I can hardly see any reason anymore to buy a vehicle from the premium segment, when the extra price is only for the image and not for the quality!
Thank you in advance.
Your very disappointed Audi fan.
ALEX

If I remember correctly from the Latin lessons in school, the word 'premium' translates to 'price' .

Hello,
Just contact Audi service directly.
http://www.audi.com/jsp/de/de/kontakt/website_tech_probleme/website_tech_probleme.jsp
Please describe your issue politely, explaining that you had all the customer service options available performed and are now very disappointed with your premium product.
At least in my case, the relevant Audi service center contacted me after some time and resolved my issue to my complete satisfaction.
Dealers are usually the ones who try to trick you, so be careful!
I had a breakdown 170km away, and it was repaired at a VAG workshop there.
Rely on your mobility guarantee (service booklet!) and, if necessary, have the repaired vehicle delivered to your doorstep.
Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English. I will then provide only the translation, without any explanations.

You'll be amazed by how many points your mobility guarantee covers!

How are they still claiming €1300 in residual costs for you?
Turbocharger replacement: approximately €550.
Catalytic converter replacement: approximately €360.
If you get a 70% discount on the parts, you would only have to pay approximately €273 for the main materials.
In addition to that, there's the labor cost for replacing the turbocharger. This varies depending on the region, but it's not more than €150! Once the turbocharger is removed, you only need to loosen three screws at the connection between the catalytic converter and the exhaust system to remove the catalytic converter. This should ideally be considered a standard service.
How did they arrive at that total?
Regards,
Manuel.

Thank you, Rainer!
I actually thought I knew what benefits I was entitled to from Audi.
But if I understand correctly, I will definitely receive a loan car in any case (whether it's due to a breakdown or a service).
Best regards, D.

I'm currently in a similar situation. Mine is currently in the workshop due to a significant oil leak. Apparently, the valve covers are slightly leaky and need to be replaced with improved ones. 70 percent of the material costs for this will be covered. However, the main cause is the oil cooler, which is now being completely replaced (the sealing ring is not available separately ). How much of this will be covered is still uncertain... I didn't use the mobility guarantee, but instead took a Golf TDI replacement car for 20 euros per day (which, in my opinion, is a reasonable price). The table mentioned states that 100% of the labor and material costs are covered in such a case if the car is less than 36 months old and the mileage is also not exceeded 100,000 km ???

I'm also having problems with the warranty. The steering column on my A4, manufactured in 2000, is defective (it squeaks and is difficult to turn). Within 3 years, it was reported, and there was 0% warranty coverage from an Audi center. It costs 1,000 euros!
I am currently negotiating with the dealer. I haven't received a commitment regarding any concessions yet, but I will keep you updated.
Best regards,
Uwe Kundenservice bedeutet bei Audi, die Kunden so schnell über den Tisch zu ziehen, daß sie die Reibungswärme als Nestwärme empfinden!
