The parameter set is being activated. This may depend on the vehicle's equipment. I suspect it only works with vehicles equipped with an alarm system. Please try it out and let me know your feedback.
If you change the coding of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), a fingerprint of the tester is stored in the vehicle's data. Each tester has an operating number, which is displayed in the header when reading the vehicle data. With some testers, you can also assign an operating number yourself. This does not work with conventional workshop testers. If you have a tester that allows you to assign an operating number, you can enter the operating number that was used during the band deprogramming process. This makes it impossible to trace who last coded the vehicle's data (important in case of a warranty claim).

1. Use the tester to incentivize the ZKE (address word 46).
2. Login 11 Input 19283 Acknowledge.
3. Reading EEPROM.
4. Enter memory address 4283.
5. Note down the content of the special cell (This is important so that you can revert the change if necessary).
6. If the cell content is displayed in hexadecimal (HEX), convert it to decimal (DEC).
7. Subtract 8 (in decimal) from the converted decimal value.
8. Now, confirm that the EEPROM writing function is complete.
9. Enter memory address 4283 again.
10. Enter the value calculated in step 7 and confirm.
11. Repeat for special cell 4289 (The value is stored in three memory cells within the SG: 4283/4289/4295. It's a 2-out-of-3 decision, meaning that at least two of the three memory cells must contain the same value in order for it to be accepted by the SG. The third special cell can be checked for verification).
12. Read error codes.
13. If there are error log entries after encoding, it means that a particular parameter set does not have this function configured. Too bad! Revert the encoding (but be careful, the '2 out of 3' rule still applies here).
14. Then, the comfortable closing/opening function should work via the remote control.

Attention: The specified special cells refer to a specific software version and parameter set. I have found that it does not work with a specific type of device (SG) using the parameter set (indicated in the header, 3rd line in the tester). Devices (SG) with the 'DWA' function have a good chance of working.

As far as I can tell from what I'm reading here, this is a simple recoding of the comfort control unit for the central locking system . You can also achieve the same thing very easily using VAG COM/OBD II. There are suitable coding options for various vehicles in the forum; take a look .

Unfortunately, it definitely cannot be done with a simple recoding or adaptation using VAG-COM, as it cannot read or write to the EEPROM. It was done with a VAS5051 in the post mentioned, and even then, it needs to be unlocked for that specific function.
