Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a coding solution for my A3 8P, manufactured in 2007...
Here's the translation:
"Here's what I want:"
When I drive at approximately 15 km/h, the vehicle automatically locks (Auto Lock) - and that is intentional.
But... I want it so that when I open, for example, the driver's door, ALL the doors unlock again! Not only after the key is removed from the ignition.
Because I've gotten out so many times, and I wanted to unload something from the trunk... but it was still locked!
Is there a coding for that?
I couldn't find the right information on openbd.org, or I'm not sure which code would be the correct one.

Hi,
Honestly, I don't think what you want can be changed through coding. Doesn't your door have an "everything on/off" button? Surely it does, and there should be a key painted on it.
Best regards, Rainer.

I've been looking for a solution to this problem for over half a year now, because I keep forgetting to press the button on the driver's door, and it's really annoying sometimes, especially when I'm already stressed. BMW 325tds

Thank you very much for your answers!
I hope there's a solution... because the button on the driver's door is only connected to a control unit (ECU), right? There must be a way to access or control it somehow?!

Not without a little tinkering...
As far as I know, it is not encodable.
I've searched for a solution multiple times, but I haven't found anything (on my A4 8E, and also on a friend's A3 8P).
It doesn't really make sense when you think about the function that the autolock is supposed to serve.
The anti-hijacking function (autolock) is designed to prevent people from opening the vehicle from the outside without your consent.

I cannot confirm that.
It is certainly true that the autolock feature provides protection against carjacking, but it is still possible, in other brands of cars, that when you open the driver's door, all other doors and hatches will also unlock.
If the driver's door is already open, it probably doesn't matter whether the rest of the car is locked or not in terms of hijacking, because a hijacker would likely choose the open driver's door over a closed one. BMW 325tds

I see it a bit differently.
I've witnessed something similar happening live in Spain before.
You're standing at the parking meter and need to open the door (you didn't park close enough).
At that moment, a passerby approaches and tries to open the trunk or the rear door.
And as a driver, you're powerless; by the time you realize what's happening, the thief is already gone.
Therefore, in my opinion, it makes sense that the vehicle is only unlocked when the driver wants it to be, either by turning the key or by pressing the unlock button.
And P.S. Humans are creatures of habit. If you open the door, you might also get used to pressing the button.
And for those who can't accept that, they can build a small circuit that automatically unlocks the vehicle when the driver's door is opened with the ignition on.

That works on my 2007 A4.
