When reading the diagnostic trouble codes from various 2.5L V6 TDI engines, the following non-erasable errors are found in the engine control unit: 01318 - Control unit for fuel injection pump (J399) 34-00 - No fault code detected. Cause: Software error in the engine control unit. Remedy: - Possibly search for radio codes/PINs, etc. - Disconnect the vehicle battery. - Wait 5 minutes. - Access the engine control unit (ECU) using VCDS and clear the fault memory.
