VCDS / Address 37: Navigation not accessible

Hey everyone,

I'm having a small problem with my navigation system (BNS 4.x), and I can't access it using VCDS. The message "Navigation not reachable" always appears.
Okay, so the navigation system is definitely there; I can see it and use it, after all.

I am using VCDS version 10.06.4 and the Micro-CAN interface.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?


PS: The scan is a bit older, but I'm still getting the same error with the new version.

When retrofitted, is the wiring completely and correctly connected? Is it configured in the gateway (address 09)?

It's not necessarily about the brand, but I seem to remember reading something about K-Line cables for that type, so trying it out would probably be the easiest thing to do.

A small consolation regarding the current situation: Whether there was an error or not would also be displayed in the overview by the gateway, but it wouldn't specify what type of error it was.

The RNS-E can only be accessed via the K-line.
You don't stand a chance with the Micro-Can.

Reason: The RNS-E originates from the A4 8E B6 and the A6 4B models and was introduced as early as the year 2003.

However, Audi only started making STGs (Steuergeräte, or control units) CAN-bus diagnosable in 2005.
Even my 2007 B7 model still has 90% of its control units that can be accessed via the K-line.
Only the MSG is accessed via CAN.

The RNS-E can definitely be accessed via CAN, it's just a matter of coding it to the appropriate vehicle! He doesn't have the RNS-E system here, but rather a Concert II radio.

The diagnosis for the BNS is performed via the K-line, and, well, it's kind of like voodoo, but he has the BNS4.0 .

Do not confuse this - the BNS 4.0 is an external device with a navigation computer and display via the FIS (fahrzeugintegrierte Schnittstelle - integrated vehicle interface).
