And for new parts that are not subject to a deposit or return policy, are the prices acceptable? And they are even lower if you buy without using eBay. Don't act so surprised, you're not easily fooled.

When buying from a private seller, you probably bought it without a warranty or the possibility of a return. Well, sometimes you only learn through pain...

Whether you purchased the item privately with the exclusion of any warranty, the properties promised in the offer must still be accurate. "Never used" is a clear statement.
If I sell a used car and state the mileage and that it has no accident history, I am responsible for those claims, as they are considered guaranteed features.
Someone was probably trying to trick you here.
I would document all the details, preferably together with a certified automotive technician or engineer, and then try to arrange a return and refund by phone (once). You can also mention that you suspect fraud. If the seller hesitates, immediately set a deadline for return and refund using the EBf/return receipt process. File a criminal complaint no later than then.
