Touran 1T: Fueling Problems & Troubleshooting (Solution)

The nozzle (or fuel dispenser) cannot be fully inserted into the fuel filler neck on diesel vehicles.

Cause.
Aufgrund des speziellen Verlaufes des Einfüllrohres, ist bei den Diesel-Versionen des Tourans im Vergleich zu anderen Modellen eine Einsteckbegrenzung für das Zapfventil notwendig. Dies soll ein zu frühes Abschalten auch bei extremen Umweltbedingungen ( z. B. Hito prevent this from happening.

Under no circumstances should an attempt be made to forcibly remove this locking mechanism.

Refueling is possible without any problems if the nozzle is properly inserted. There is no risk of the nozzle coming loose during refueling.

Solution:
Do not attempt any repairs. Inform the driver about the situation.
