Hello.
In the used car inspection tips, I described some simple preliminary checks related to compression problems.

The "Hoppeltest" (a hopping test) was significantly challenged by Diesel-Gustav.

...and during the paper test, my wife's ALH, with only 25,000 km on the odometer, gave me a scare by blowing the paper almost all the way under the hood.
The consumption and performance are fine, and the oil consumption is practically zero.
My car, with 42,000 km on the odometer, lifts the same leaf approximately 10 cm above the oil filler cap.
I currently suspect that the crankcase ventilation system (KGE) of the ALH engine is drawing air in through the open oil filler cap and venting it back out through the oil filler neck.
Then, for the paper test, the "KGE" would need to be "blocked" (can anyone confirm this?), but I don't have time for such experiments right now.
How do the paper strip tests perform on your engines?
