'I've been experiencing a sudden loss of power in my car. I had it towed and disassembled it today. I noticed that the timing belt is running at an angle. Why is this happening? The engine has only 10,000 km and came from a 1996 Passat. I've heard that there might be an issue with the pump bracket. However, that wasn't the problem. I was trying to loosen the screw on the crankshaft and discovered that it was loose, despite being tightened to 180 Nm + 2 x 90 Nm and with threadlocker. Normally, it shouldn't come loose with that much torque. Please help me figure out why this happened, as this could be disastrous for the engine. I've already replaced the screw and the pulley.'

I've been experiencing the following problem: sudden power loss on the train. I had it towed and disassembled it today. I noticed that the timing belt is running at an angle. Why??? The engine has only 10,000 km and comes from a 1996 Passat. I've heard that there might be something wrong with the pump bracket. However, that wasn't the reason. I was trying to loosen the screw on the crankshaft when I realized it was loose. This is despite being tightened to 180 Nm + 2 x 90 Nm + adhesive. Normally, it shouldn't come loose with that much torque. Please help me figure out why this happened, as this could be disastrous for the engine. I've replaced the screw and the pulley.
Evening!
To the best of my knowledge, the timing belt is replaced with every change.
THE screw on the KW wheel was also replaced!
(It was also listed on my invoice (110 hp TDI).)
Many G 60 engines also suffer from the screw coming loose.
crossed the river Jordan. Probably, VW is having problems with substandard parts.
Screws.

The central bolt is not replaced every time, but only once during the initial AFN production run. The replaced bolt has a higher strength and is designed to prevent it from loosening on its own.

Hello,
If the screw on the KW (likely referring to a suspension component) has been loosened, it must also be replaced (according to VW).

Hi everyone,
Question for the experts (Michael II, etc.):
Is there a specific point (e.g., engine number) from which the "correct" screws are used? Gruß Ulf
