Hi,
Are the serial number plates on the engines identical?
When I look at the offerings from various retailers, the Garrett GT 1749 V should always be included.
Interestingly, the motors operate in the pmax range as follows:
AJM 43mg at 2100 mbar at 4000 1/min = 85 kW.
AHF 38.5mg at 1920 mbar at 4150 1/min = 81 kW.
ALH 36mg at 1950 mbar at 3750 1/min = 66 kW.
AVB 37mg at 1950 mbar at 4000 1/min = 74 kW.
ASV 37.5mg at 2000 mbar at 4150 1/min = 81 kW.
Do I have a misunderstanding here, or does the manufacturer always use the "universal" GT1749V turbocharger in the power range of around 74 kW / 100 hp? selber schrauben - statt Werkstattpfusch

Yes, they are always variants of the 1749V charger, but...
Attention:
Not all loaders are the same design.
There are also different part numbers from Volkswagen.
One thing is that earlier versions, for example in the ALH engine, used an older VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbine) mechanism with 9 instead of 11 lobes, and a different way of attaching the turbocharger using a bracket at the bottom of the engine block (one lug on the turbocharger was later rotated 90 degrees, but you can also use the new bracket).
Later versions were then equipped with click-on clamps for the intercooler hoses.
Best regards,

I was already aware of that – for example, the VA model is also available in the ASZ and the AWX/AVF series, although it differs from them by the flap on the back (for the support).
What surprises me more is that the same running gear is always used, even though there's a difference of 18 kW / 25 hp between the most powerful engine (AJM/ATJ) and the weakest one (ALH).
That is to say, either the engine has a poor turbocharger efficiency in the lower RPM range, or it has one in the upper RPM range.
Clearance fit, factory-set. selber schrauben - statt Werkstattpfusch

Hello VW enthusiasts,
I understand, that's a performance difference of over 20%.
You're bound to accept some degree of misalignment in order to manufacture identical parts.
On the other hand, it's true that the loaders, via the VTG (Variable Transmission Gear), can adapt to a wide power range, for example, between 30 and 100 horsepower, even with an engine.
There, the effectiveness will also vary.
And this variance is then much larger.
And typically, people tend to drive more in the lower/mid-range performance spectrum, so perhaps the efficiency is optimized in that area. --------------------------------------------
