OBD Engine Control Unit: Meaning & Explanation

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything yet that would answer my question.

When you open a diagnostic session with an engine control unit (this is certainly true for KW1281 and KWP2000), you receive even more information about the control unit number.

The data looks like this:

But now, the "xx"... those are still three big question marks for me.

Most of the time, it shows "00". Now I have an engine control unit with "30" - a 028906021GH and a 028906021GT, where the value at position "42" is different.

Can someone give me a breakdown of that?

The control units have different adaptation channels on the top.
or adapted to the lower stop.

Wow, really.

I still don't understand how it works. I just tried it with a 028906021GG. If you set channel 01 to maximum, it displays "10", but channel 02 doesn't display "20", and if you set channel 03 to maximum, it displays "40".

Does anyone know anything about this?

The control units are not necessarily the same in that case.
Try each channel on the respective control unit (one channel at a time).
and take breaks for refreshments) and write down the results.
(Tip: binary )
It provides more insight than the fact that adaptation mechanisms are already at their limit.
Perhaps the whole thing was originally intended to allow workshops to operate with simple means.
We could see that significant modifications had been made to the adaptation channels.
