Hello everyone,

My colleague came running towards me at the end of the shift; he had a "minor" problem;

Golf 5 1.4 TSI, I mean, it's a BMY (140hp)

Error 008196 - Suction valve for airflow control Bank 1
P2004 - 000 - Open

Error reappears immediately after engine restart.

What is the best way to troubleshoot this engine type? icon_confused.gif

Hi Gremlin,

Good that I have entered the error into the error database... icon_wink.gif
/viewtopic.php?t=28621&highlight=p2004

It refers to an error that occurs when switching between the switchgear. Especially with non-turbocharged gasoline engines, resonance induction utilizes the intake manifold to achieve a better engine filling rate.
This requires a long intake path at low speeds, and a short intake path at high speeds.
The valve you mentioned switches between short and long intake paths. Rest siehe mein Link oben.

Regarding the function of the suction pipe in your motor: Search for "SSP 359" and refer to page 48.

It would be great if you could post a picture of the valve.

Best regards, Rainer

Thank you for the quick response icon_smile_thumb_up.gif

Since it's not my car, I won't have access to it again so quickly (at the earliest in week 26) - but I'll see what I can do - regarding the photo icon_cool.gif

EDIT:

If I'm not mistaken, these should be the "03C133204AJ" flaps. (Google Image Search)

First, check if it's a mechanical or electrical fault... icon_idea.gif
