Hello,
Today, a friend came over with his 5-door Golf 1.9 TDI BLS, but it had been "chipped" to produce 140 horsepower.
MJ 07 Km Stand 154tkm.
He has recently experienced approximately 50% higher consumption. The cold temperatures alone will not be the cause; he travels 400km weekly.
Reading the fault memory revealed that the intake valve (012601 - Intake valve for airflow control P3139 - 000 - Signal out of tolerance) See also attached log file.
Then, the air intake hose was removed and the valve was actuated using the actuator diagnostic tool. However, this had no effect. Therefore, the hose was removed and the housing of the gearbox was opened. The gears looked good, all teeth were present, and nothing appeared to be amiss. The lid was also movable and easy to open, and there was hardly any dirt to be seen. I would say, for a garage, it's surprisingly clean.
Then I reattached it, but I couldn't get any movement. Then we carefully moved it by hand (approximately 10% of the value according to VCDS), then it closed, opened, and remained in that position. This process could also be reproduced.
I suspect there is a communication problem with the throttle motor. Throttle actuator diagnosis while the engine is running only made the engine run rougher. It should have shut down, right? What I don't understand is why it's running rough, even though the cover isn't moving, or is there something more to it?
Have any of you experienced similar issues?
The log test also revealed increased LMM values, which could potentially explain the higher fuel consumption. However, in this case, the intake valve does not seem to have any influence.
Greetings

Likely, the starter motor is faulty
Don't mess around, but do it carefully, and be sure to check the wiring harness for damage caused by rodents.
Best regards, Rainer

Have I feared that this would happen
Normally, the suction valve flaps die due to faulty gears. Now, my plan would be to possibly remove the engine.
Or try to repair the Stellmotor. I should check the pin configuration first, then we could test the control motor.
I believe that evidence of rabbit damage should also be checked, although I don't think it's likely due to the symptoms, but it should be ruled out beforehand.
