Audi A1 1.6 TDI: Jerking During Acceleration

We are selling the vehicle mentioned above, first registered in October 2014, with a current mileage of 67,000 km.

"With our car, there's a slight jerk before the power kicks in when the engine speed is below 2000 RPM and with light acceleration. Audi updated the software in the engine control unit (ECU) about 18 months ago, which improved the situation somewhat."

Now we had to do the EA189 update, and since then, the hesitation has become much more noticeable. It only happens when the engine is at operating temperature and below 2000 RPM, especially when you gently press the accelerator. It's normal when you're giving it full throttle.

Audi says that this is something we have to live with, and that adapting the system in small increments hasn't made a difference. A comparable vehicle in the dealer's inventory exhibits the same behavior.

I could borrow a VCDS device from a friendly mechanic to post some readings.

I also noticed that it's quite unpleasant.
The gradient, which depends on the accelerator pedal position, is likely very small at the initial percentage of accelerator pedal travel.

The powertrain also seems to have quite a bit of play, which intensifies the feeling of jerking.

It's just annoying when you have to keep up with the traffic without cruise control.
