The engine control unit (ECU) does not directly measure the soot mass in the diesel particulate filter (DPF), but rather calculates it based on the measured differential pressure. Either there is an error in the calculation, or there is a display error in the diagnosis because the "model" of how the DPF should behave does not entirely match reality.

For my CUNA engine, the oil ash content is important. The maximum allowable amount is 80g. Typical mileage is between 250,000 km and 320,000 km.
