Is VCP compatible with ODIS?

Hello Rainer,

Is it perhaps possible to create a foundation for ODIS using the VCP drivers? The original VAG interface costs approximately €1,500 currently. However, there are also "open" interfaces available that simply redirect the software. Are there any experiences with these?

Hello Philipp,

J2534 compatibility was considered, but it appears that this is not being pursued at the moment.

VCP drivers: Drivers for "virtual COM ports" are only available for the outdated HEX-USB+CAN device. However, that wouldn't help either, as the J2534 system uses a completely different communication interface.

I personally use a Mongoose Plus as a pass-through interface, and the VCI from the Megamacs 77.

Both work well with OEM software/testers. So far, I haven't been able to detect any significant differences.

Not even with other manufacturers.

That seems to fit.

Regarding BMW, I've noticed that there are differences in the flashing process. In that case, the Icom is significantly faster. But BMW also has Ethernet.
