CAN Communication Error: Not Ready After Test

After my laptop stopped working, I got a new one and installed VCDS on it.

During the diagnostic test on my Passat, the message "CAN: not ready" appeared (photo below).

To rule out the possibility that the problem lies in my own electronics, I repeated the connection test on an Audi A6 from 2012.
With the same result.

I most likely need to perform the initial installation of VCDS now.
because I installed the update from February 2026.
