Hello,
For some very old VCDS interfaces, problems have been reported, they would not function under Windows 11 and/or VCDS 23.03.1.
Affected Interfaces:
-
HEX-USB
-
KEY-USB
- HEX-USB+CAN
- Micro-CAN
In most cases, this is not the case, with the exception of Windows on ARM, because it has a completely different hardware platform that came many years after the interfaces.
Here are some statements that may be helpful to those affected:

"Version 23.3.1 has been on the market for approximately six months. The main problem we've identified with older interfaces is that people don't bother to activate the "Install USB drivers for older interfaces" checkbox:
See Example Screenshot English Version, the German version is exactly the same.
This should ideally only be necessary on a system where the drivers have not already been installed in the past. These drivers haven't been updated in many years, but for reasons that I don't fully understand, it sometimes seems necessary to reinstall them.
Another potential problem is that some instances of Windows 11 do not load these older drivers if they are not modified as follows:
Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Security -> Device Security -> Core Isolation -> Memory Integrity.
-> Disable memory integrity (and of course, restart the system)
Regarding ARM and a VM, I don't believe that it will ever work with older interfaces. Running an x86 Windows will not help, as the host operating system requires drivers for the connected hardware, and we do not have Windows-ARM drivers for it." |
