Hi everyone, I recently got a VAG COM diagnostic tool, and I'd like to know which channel I can use to measure the intake air temperature. Also, what does the display 'NM' mean? Does it represent Newton Meters (Nm), which are the values acting on the wheel, or something else?
I have a VW Golf IV with an ATD engine.

Hello,

For 4-cylinder engines that are not PD TDI, the charge air temperature is located in measurement block 7 of the engine control unit.
1. Fuel temperature sensor in the fuel injection pump.
2. Value: N/A
3. Value: Intake air temperature / Charge air temperature.
4. Cooling water temperature value.

You should have been able to figure out that the diagnostic tool cannot measure Nm at the wheel, because there is no corresponding measuring device present icon_wink.gif.
If something like that is displayed, it's a value stored in the engine control unit that has nothing to do with reality.

Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, good, thanks. I was already thinking that about the NM (Newton-meters) because you need a dynamometer to measure that!
Hmm, I'm also having a problem where VAG-COM can't find a label file for my TDI PD ATD. Could that be because the 100 HP variant is a fairly common model?
