Hi,
Now I'm finally the proud owner of an OBD-II cable, and I've just started trying to connect to the various components of my car. The software I'm using is VAG-COM.
Connecting to the motor works perfectly, and I can read error codes, but all my attempts to access the central locking system to change its locking behavior have failed. I get no response on either channel 35 or 46.
Are there any ideas about this? According to the manual, the vehicle's control unit (ECU) behaves like the one used by VW, it also handles the airbag unlocking function, and it has the same turn signal codes as VW.
Furthermore, I have an older workshop printout that was used to confirm that everything was in order. This printout came from a VAS 5051 device and includes the following control units:
01 - Engine
03 - Brake
15 - Airbag
25 - Immobilizer.
56 - Radio
17 - Control panel insert.
08 - Climate/Heating
However, I don't know how this happened. I'm not sure if VAS 5051 can display a kind of listing that allows you to output everything that's available, or if this is simply the selection that the workshop randomly queried.
If that's all there is... how does the central locking system work then? Could it be that it's not connected to the system, and therefore such a re-coding (to, say, 15 km/h) might not even be possible?
The adapter should work; I had it connected to the motor, radio, and dashboard, but I haven't tested the rest of the items on the workshop list.
What else could be tried, or how else could it be approached?
Best regards,

Hello Jan,
I need to find the wiring diagrams for your model. Then I can tell you more. Tschüss

Hi Michael,
"So far, I've been using a wiring diagram for a Golf 4 from RohLands' technical website to help me with the wiring for our ALH-powered Ibiza."
Do you know of a reliable source for seating charts? Gruß Ulf

Hi Michael,
That's very kind of you!
If the plans are available electronically, I would be very happy to receive them, as would I be for any other information, because there is so little information available about it. There isn't even a self-help book for the 6K, let alone circuit diagrams (see also Ulf's post).
If you need any input (device numbers, etc.), just let me know, and I'll get everything out that can be obtained with VAG-COM .
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): VSSZZZ6KZ2R024059.
Best regards, and thank you very much.

Hello Jan,
If the plans I'm currently looking at are correct, your central locking system is connected to the other control units via the CAN bus. However, since there is no CAN gateway (which simulates the diagnostic line from the CAN bus), and your central locking system is not connected to the necessary diagnostic line, you cannot access it.
Unfortunately, I don't know why it was solved that way. Maybe I'll find out more later. Tschüss

Hi Michael,
That's interesting, even though it's not entirely clear why they're doing it that way. If you find out anything more, I'd appreciate it.
Where is the mentioned control unit located? Is it at the back, near the pneumatic pump? Perhaps the cable was simply too complicated to run to that location...
VAG-Com offers "CAN-Gateway" as an option, but according to your explanation, it probably won't work either if such a thing doesn't actually exist.
Is the control unit a standard one that's also used in other VW vehicles, or is it a specific Seat unit that's only found here? If it's the former, it might be possible to connect it to a diagnostic bus somewhere else to figure out what's going on, or even temporarily increase the power for reprogramming purposes. Or could it be a model that's not even capable of being diagnosed?
Best regards,
