Hi.

What size syringe would be appropriate for testing the EGR valve and the wastegate (once with suction, once with pressure)?

Hopefully, the pharmacist won't ask about the purpose icon_lol.gif.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Hi Martin,

I already have a 60 ml apparatus.
It should be enough vacuum to activate the wastegate, but even with this piece (with only one vacuum connection), I can't get the EGR valve to open more than halfway.
To fully open it, I have to squeeze/pinch the tube and reattach the syringe. . . icon_sad.gif

My pharmacist actually grinned when I told him what I needed the thing for.
I don't know if he believed me or not...
Gruß Ulf

Hi Martin,

I also have a 60 [model] and was able to disassemble the EGR valve without any problems (even with my mouth -> so it's still easy to move). Of course, this also depends on the length of the hose in between. The shorter, the better. Please let me know if you can move your wastegate as easily as Ulf did (um... moment, didn't you used to have an AFN icon_confused.gif)?

Okay, but just to be on the safe side, I estimated that a full 60 ml syringe should be enough icon_rolleyes.gif.

Hi,

At Aldi, sometimes there is a syringe available for sale that has a volume greater than 500 cm³. It can be used for both suction and pressure. icon_lol.gificon_idea.gif

Ask your trusted veterinarian.
The 200ml versions (which are normal for cattle, horses, etc.) work great icon_cool.gif.

Best regards, Rudi.

Okay.

Thank you for your tips.

With 3 pharmacists and a agricultural engineer in the family/circle of friends, that should work out icon_smile.gif.
