Gasoline tachometer connected to a 1Z TDI engine control unit

Hello everyone

I have a small problem; I've installed a 1Z engine into a Golf 2.

So far, everything is fine, but the problem is that I want to connect a gasoline engine tachometer to the control unit, because there's no space for the combination instrument from the Golf 3.

If pin T68/2 is located on the control unit, it should be identical to terminal 1 of the gasoline engine.

Unfortunately, it's not working.

Perhaps someone can help me.

Do you have the gasoline-powered speedometer from a Golf III or a Golf II? The one from the Golf III might fit, as it receives the RPM information from the engine control unit.
