I've already tried three different power boxes.
1. Plugmaster from Koch Fahrzeugtechnik/Chiptronic... multi-compatible for all 4-cylinder TDI PD engines.
2. Python Powerbox... specifically designed for the respective engine (in my case, a 130hp TDI PD).
3. Alpin PD4... multi-compatible for all 4-cylinder TDI PD engines.

'The Plugmaster was running very erratically for me. The engine started at 1,700 RPM and stopped briefly at 1,900 RPM, then continued. This resulted in a jerky performance; the device was junk, so I sold it again!'

...the Python Box was amazing, offering incredible performance with no stuttering, black smoke, or other issues; it's a fantastic piece of equipment!

.....I currently have the Alpin PD4 box installed........in my opinion, this device is dangerous!!
...I'm experiencing the following problem: When I accelerate to around 1,800 RPM, the car accelerates well. However, when I suddenly release the accelerator, the engine reacts with a delay; that is, it accelerates for 0.5-1 second *before* I release the gas! This is quite strange and potentially dangerous!
...however, when driving in the 5th or 6th gear on the highway, the car accelerates from 100 to 200 km/h so quickly, it's insane!

.....getting to the main topic.....what does 'multicompatible' mean?.....KW-Systems claims that their device has multiple characteristic curves stored, and that the device automatically detects which engine it is connected to and selects the corresponding characteristic curve!!
.......with brands like Alpin or Koch, I get the feeling that they simply choose a single characteristic curve, which essentially represents a lazy compromise. All PDs work... but not optimally!!
.......what do you think???
...in a month, I'm getting a custom OBD tuning anyway, but I wanted to know what these 'multi-compatible' power boxes are all about!

Monchi.
...who likes to experiment a lot!
