hi,
My engine has already reached 200,000 km, but it's producing quite a bit of black smoke under load.
'Now I want to replace the fuel injectors and I've been offered some from a Golf 4. They come from an ALH engine with 66 kW. Will these injectors also fit in my older 1Z? Unfortunately, the parts catalog on the Bosch website isn't working, so I haven't been able to check there.'
I hope someone can help me with this...
Happy Easter.

hi,
I just went ahead and replaced the nozzles. It works fine, but it runs a bit louder (probably due to the slightly higher opening pressure).
I had my old nozzles checked recently, and the results were:
Not a single one has sprayed properly; three of them have dripped.
The opening pressure was still within acceptable limits.
I think that speaks for itself; anyone who has reached a mileage of approximately 200,000 km should probably consider having the injectors replaced.

Thank you for the information.
What did you pay for the "reprinting" of the old nozzles (or what would you have had to pay ?
I'm also thinking about getting new injectors (the engine is nearing 160,000 km).
Mainly because a nozzle is making noise (it sounds uneven when it's injecting fuel, but not during acceleration).
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation. Transparency, Teamwork

hi,
The expansion was terrible... Volkswagen doesn't have any specialized tools. So I went to a friend who runs a workshop; he had a 'nozzle remover' and those things came out in no time.
When he returned the tools, he quickly sprayed some cleaner on the nozzles, but it was pointless.
I wouldn't even be able to tell you what the usual cost is. The labor involved is only 10 minutes for 4 nozzles...

Hello,
Zy'Swapping binders is an old problem with the 1Z.'
However, I wasn't necessarily keen on replacing the other nozzles just based on a hunch. Is there a way to pinpoint the problem more precisely?
Thank you.
Best regards, Thomas.

Greetings Thomas.
Have the system checked and calibrated, and have the spray pattern inspected by a reputable Bosch service center!

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

What kind of filters do you have installed right now? Are they the ones from ALH? Do they offer any performance improvements?

Hi doctor,
I've now installed the injectors from ALH. They don't improve performance at all; in fact, I think they might even be a little worse in 5th gear. I foolishly didn't take any measurements beforehand. Maybe there are still some good and cheap AFN injectors out there?
Then I would also gladly give back my belongings.

1Z 184 approximately 190 bar.
ALH switch 184 to 220 bar.
It's obvious that this won't improve performance; the higher pressure is supposed to help reduce vibrations.
Use ASV Duesen that have the same parts as AFN but with a pressure of 220 bar instead of 205 bar.
(according to my current understanding).

Here's how Martin's contribution should look:
