Hi,
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything specific.
The MSTG generates a signal for the MFA, which contains information about the consumption. The output is provided as PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) or pulse frequency/duration. Whether any of that is correct doesn't matter; I can always measure it again if necessary, and both can be evaluated analogously.
But what information is contained in this signal: consumption/time or consumption/distance?
Both options are possible, as the MSTG also has the speed signal.
If the information available were consumption per distance, a real-time consumption display could be implemented using simple analog technology.
Greetings.

usually liters per hour.
The combination instrument handles all the other calculations.

Okay, then I guess I should start looking for a medical assistant.

The consumption signal provides an instantaneous value (which should represent the current cycle of the fuel pump) that is then converted and displayed on the instrument cluster.
'With an average value like liters per hour, it would not be possible to display the current consumption rate.'

Hi,
Sure?
"As far as I know, the MSG (presumably a module or system) integrates the injected fuel amounts and calculates a consumption rate per unit of time. From this, as Grenlin mentioned, the consumption in liters per 100 km can be calculated if you have the speed (which the instrument cluster provides)."
l/h is not an average value, but a calculated instantaneous value for flow rate per unit of time - you can easily convert from microliters per millisecond to l/h.
It's not possible to measure the fuel consumption directly at the fuel pump because not all the fuel that is pumped is actually consumed; you would have to factor in the return flow.

liter / h IS a current value

The fuel injection pump returns a PWM signal indicating the amount of fuel injected. "With the speed signal and an analog multiplier (operational amplifier circuit), it should be quite simple to create an analog display, in my opinion."
