Hi.
My 1Z has a relatively new KRR tension roller assembly (approximately 40,000 km, 20 months).
"This part has extremely high breakaway torque values. When I engage the tension lever and slowly release it, I can almost "park" the tensioning roller in a position where it doesn't press on the cable reel."
D.H. also that, during operation, the belts are never tensioned evenly.
In a drawing from INA (a manufacturer of such spring elements), there's a mention of "Coulomb friction area," which apparently is intended to slightly dampen the spring (similar to how shock absorbers work on a suspension).
Therefore, I'm hesitant to simply flood the part with oil, because the "brake" could then become too weak, and the belt flutter might return.
The old tensioner was far too weak, which caused the belt to flap noticeably, and this, in turn, created LOUD NOISES.
"Refurbishing" costs EUR 60. Would you first fiddle around with the clamp to make it a little more flexible?
The PS: SpannARM slides smoothly into the bushings with only minimal play.
Here is a site plan.
