Hello!
I want to install a comfort closing function for the windows and sunroof in my Audi B4. However, I need the power consumption for the window lifters. (Unfortunately, the current measurement range of my multimeter is broken ).
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me the power consumption figures for driving, for blocking a window, and, if possible, for the sunroof.
Thank you very much, Wolfi.
PS: If someone could help me, I would also be willing to post the circuit diagram here.

Does absolutely no one among you have a little bit of extra time and a clamp meter lying around at home?

neither / nor...
'But I'm already expecting peak currents of around 20-30 amps...'
Note: Thermos fuse, rated current (In) = 30A, cable cross-sectional area = 2.5 sq mm.
besides: what time do you expect a response on a holiday? ordinary people have to work, and they can't run out in the middle of the night to measure currents .

What's going to happen now?

I'm just going to blindly suggest an automatic 'window-open-when-unlocking' system .

exactly!
To the best of my knowledge, there's a 20A fuse installed. However, that doesn't really tell us anything about the current draw.

I build circuits like that too...
'On my B4, I'm getting around 6-8 amps with the window open and approximately 15 amps when it's fully closed.'
The values depend on factors such as temperature, friction, voltage (motor on/off), and direction of movement.
How do you plan to detect electrical faults in an emergency situation?
Greetings.
Lucas.

"Thank you very much!!"
That's exactly the information I was looking for.
About a shunt resistor and a comparator...
But the much bigger problem is this: Where can I find relays with 2 changeover contacts that can handle at least 15A? I haven't been able to find any so far!
Greetings, Wolfi.

ACT212 from NAIS/Matsushita.
You can find them, for example, at Conrad, but only through ordering.
Wiring diagram: see www.jalt.de

'Ideally, every Bosch service center should have this item in stock or be able to order it.'

Okay, here's a different question: Does the B4 model not have something like keyless entry with a key lock in the door?
keyword: Volkswindow and clones...

Well, it doesn't have two needles, but I might be able to rearrange the stitches...

Gute Idee!! Okay, here's the translation:
Thank you.

Unfortunately, no. At least, not mine.
