First of all, congratulations on the functioning power steering .
If I understand correctly, this new pump is actually the second replacement, right?
What about the first pump? Was it a manufacturing defect, or did it break down due to some other reason (possibly running dry?)?

Well then, congratulations on your power steering.
I will definitely check to see if the oil is circulating in the expansion tank as soon as the engine is ready to be driven again.
Hopefully, that's the problem.

I really don't want to have to replace the steering rack again...

es ist die 2te Pumpe im Austausch. Wieso die erste aufgegeben hat, weiß ich nicht. Vielleicht waren ein paar Lamellen verklemmt. Who knows...

In my opinion, the problem was not caused by a dry run, because I had added oil before starting the engine, and the pump was initially working but then failed after a short time.

On the other hand, you never know what kind of defect the pump might have had before. It's a replacement part with a label indicating 'remanufactured,' meaning it has been refurbished.

Whatever... it's working again ).

Yay! Mine is working again too.

Es war die Servopumpe. Neue eingebaut. Oil topped up.
Chocked up and turned back and forth 10 times.

Great! Now I can finally steer again.
