Hi,
I read the link.
"With my old VDO oil pressure gauge, when the input (G) is open, the needle points to the left stop (so it's completely different from yours). If I connect it to ground, the needle points to the right stop (again, different from yours)!"
I just checked my rally car again and double-checked all the measurements. It's exactly as I described it.
If I remember correctly, there were two different sensors and two different measuring devices (which were changed at some point). My measuring device also doesn't work with the newer sensors. Perhaps you've combined the wrong (new) sensor with the wrong (old) measuring device. Gruß Bertil

Hello Thomas, hello Bertil.
I really think it's great how helpful you are .
To Thomas: Sure, I will follow your advice. I'll have time for it next weekend.
I also do outdoor wiring!
Regarding Bertil: Indeed, you might have found the problem! I see here that the VDO temperature and rudder angle indicators are working exactly in reverse .
The two without 'G' indicate the left limit / fuel and pressure gauges; the two without 'G' indicate the right limit.
IF everything about the structure is the same, but the polarity is reversed, then it is indeed possible that they are simply the wrong sensors.
But: shouldn't a specialized company know ?

I'll get back to you on Monday. Best regards, Peter.

@ps-skipper
What does the extra wire connected to the negative terminal of the battery have to do with the alternator and the analyzer? Of course, they won't start if you connect an additional cable.
For every vehicle, the engine is connected to the vehicle's chassis, which in turn is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. I suspect that the connecting cable may be somewhat corroded and not providing a proper connection between the engine and the chassis.

Hi everyone, here I am with the results from the weekend.
EVERYTHING AS REQUESTED. Even the outdoor wiring didn't help.
At the output terminal of the display, a voltage of 7.3 volts is measured, while at the instrument itself, the voltage between the positive and negative terminals is 12 volts. Therefore, the 7.3 volts are being supplied to the sensor!
Die Geber wurden mit einem sehr empfindlichem Gerät gemessen , bis 22 Megeohm. No advertisement.
Attempted to inject compressed air into the Gebers oil well. No result.
I've expanded the entire range of expressions and now I have them at home.
Ich versuche jetztmal , bei VDO einen kompetenten Mitarbeiter zu finden . Let's see.
Best regards from the Weser River, Peter.

Hi everyone,
It's been a week since the last post, but my feedback is finally here .
The power supply is broken; it can't get any worse. So, I opened the device according to the instructions - and (you won't believe this) the red wire at the top of the potentiometer is disconnected, probably due to a cold solder joint .
Warm-up - wire attached - and suddenly, I had reasonable values .
What might not be believed: the electrical signals have no connection to the housing; there's nothing to measure there. So, it's floating - connect the signal wire to one pin, and the ground to the other, and everything will work fine .
DUO donors, complete nonsense.
Yesterday, I reattached the part, and it now shows 4 bar.
Thank you for all the good advice.
Greetings from the Weser River, yours Peter.

Hello,
Great, everything's working again.
But a crucial question remains unanswered for me.
Why didn't the two new transmitters work? Or were they connected incorrectly?

Hello Thomas,
a very good objection
Well, some people say - enclosure == ground. So, I didn't connect the actual ground pin at all. But I only realized (saw) that when the sensor was open.
Of course, the two NEW sensors WORK CORRECTLY if there is a ground connection at the second pin , but sometimes one is just too stupid. I could have tried it, but who would think of it - a sensor is ground-free! . It seems completely unnecessary to me.
Final remark: VDO will take back the new pumps and refund the payment.
So, a happy ending.
Thank you again to EVERYONE!
