Hello everyone,
I'm considering installing a chip to increase the power of my 1.9 TDI PD engine (74 kW) from 96 kW.
Given that the car already has 115,000 km (approximately 71,000 miles), it is generally advised against modifications due to the increased fuel injection pressure, turbo boost, and potential wear on components like shafts and bearings. My question is: even when driving in city traffic with moderate acceleration, will a chip modification still result in increased fuel injection pressure or turbo boost, or only when using full throttle?
If the pressures remain close to the standard values during moderate acceleration, and only increase significantly under full load, would increased wear only be negatively affected in those few instances of full load operation?
Regarding the seemingly higher temperatures (oil and coolant), could this potentially be a slight advantage when primarily used in city driving, as the engine warms up more quickly?
Thank you very much.

The injection pressure is not increased. Only the boost pressure is typically increased during chip tuning.
With moderate acceleration, the parameters typically remain within their standard ranges. However, in that case, you wouldn't need a chip anyway.
In a well-programmed chip, the oil temperature only increases when the extra power is constantly being used (on the highway), because you don't necessarily drive faster overall, the engine efficiency often improves, and you can frequently drive at lower RPMs.
You won't achieve a faster engine warm-up for the reason mentioned above.
